The latest collaborative effort between the two public entities will see its first professional theatrical production hit the stage this month, when dancer and choreographer Tandy Beal brings her modern take on “The Nutcracker” to the Hammer Theatre. “Nutz RE-Mixed!” will run from Nov. 18 to Dec. 4, and given its roots in Beal’s circus experience, the show should test the renovations made to the theater since the city and San Jose State signed a three-year contract last December.
